On The Wagon

Hi. My name is Holden, and I am proud to say that it's been 26 days since I last hit the bottle.
It was a slow process, I gave it up one bottle at a time. There were times, especially at the beginning, where I would drink a whole bottle 5, maybe 6 times a day. Sometimes I would even get up at night to drink it. But gradually I cut back until I was bottle free.
It was expensive, too. My mom and dad (being enablers) estimate they spent over $1000 supporting my formula habit over the last 15 months.
It definitely hasn't been easy, particularly when I am around other babies who are still using. I can't say I haven't tried to rip bottles out of the hands of innocent children. But it gets easier every day.
So thanks for your support everyone. If you see me on the street with a sippy cup, just know that it is water, maybe milk, but NEVER formula, and I couldn't have done it without all of you.

Baby Proofing Fail

Umm, Mom?
These little pronged things that you stuck in all the outlets are for pulling out of the wall, putting in my mouth, and then putting back into the wall, right?
Just checking!

Family "Stay-Cay" (I'm Hip To The Lingo)

Hello Again! It's Holden, here to tell you about my rockin' Wing Family mini-vacation. We spent the weekend in Park City, courtesy of my grandma and grandpa!
Wasn't it pretty??
We did lots of fun things over the weekend. Here I am hanging out in "baby jail," (aka, my playpen) reading my book. I like to play in baby jail, but I discovered that I don't so much like to sleep there. I would much rather sleep in mom and dad's bed. Preferably sideways so I can kick mom in the ribs all night.
Have I told you that people in my family think I am pretty cute? Because they do. And because I am the ONLY grandchild, and was the only person under 16 in attendance, I kind of got a lot of attention. Which I loved. Here are my Uncle Andy and Uncle Dan giving me some attention...
Since I am so cute, my grandma decided to spoil me at the Carter's and Baby Gap outlets. Seriously. S-P-O-I-L-E-D.
I'm told that people had fun after I went to sleep as well. Mostly in the form of an awesome game of BINGO and copious amounts of Beatles Rock Band. And there was food. Lots and lots of food.

And, to celebrate a super fun weekend, I only cried about half of the way home. You are welcome, mom and dad.

Obligatory 4th Of July Post

Hey Everyone, it's Holden.
I thought I would take a minute to give you some highlights from my very first 4th of July.

It started with a "patriotic" breakfast. My mom decided it was patriotic because she put blueberries in my pancake. Then I went to my very first parade. The horn on the fire truck scared me, but the rest of the parade I was pretty indifferent about.
Except for when they gave me an American flag. I liked that.

In honor of our troops, I spent much of my day perfecting my Army crawl.

There was yummy dinner at my Grandma and Grandpa's house, but no photos taken there were worthy of blog immortality. The food was good, though.

And finally, my mom and dad celebrated their freedom by hanging the mandatory "white backed" curtains they had been avoiding for so long. So there you go, Homeowners Association, the world is now safe from the dangers of non white curtains. You can rest easy at night once again.
Hope you all enjoyed the 4th as much as I did!
