Slave Labor

Would you believe me if I told you this was all his idea? Would you believe me if I said that dusting is one of his favorite pastimes, right after vacuuming and sorting laundry? I kid you not, the poor child sits in front of the cleaning closet crying "baa-cooom, baa-coom" multiple times a day. He also drags his giant hamper to the washing machine and tries to put his clothes in it.

He is either starting young with the whole "clean freak" persona or knocking my housekeeping skills. Could be either one.

Obsession

Anyone else obsessed with the Olympics?
Anyone want to come obsess with this guy?
I've had just about all the random Olympic trivia and detailed rule breakdown for each sport that I can take.
Speaking of obsession, you'll never guess what Holden's newest obsession is...

Yup. We watched two episodes just today. Holden kept pointing to the TV and saying "mmm, good!" I'll be honest, it was a welcome break from the Playhouse Disney crew.

She's Crafty...(And She's Just My Type!)

A little Beastie Boys anyone?...Anyone? Just me then. Hmmm..

Well, as we all know by now, I am NOT crafty. But now I have one fewer excuse..I mean, reason...for my lack of craftiness.

Previously, if I wanted to get to my meager supply of crafting items, I had to go through this... To get to this...
Organized? Ehh, kinda. Accessible? No way! Even less accessible when Holden is sleeping (which would be the only time I think to do anything crafty anyways).

So..since my condo hasn't recently grown a new wing to support a craft room, I purchased this little beauty for our living room.

Organized? Yep! Accessible? Very much so. Oh so pretty? I think so! Who knows, this might be just the solution to my non crafty ways!
Oh, and if you were worried about the fate of the fancy plastic drawers that USED to house all this stuff, don't worry. They were adopted by the hall closet and are fitting right in at their new home.

On The Wagon

Hi. My name is Holden, and I am proud to say that it's been 26 days since I last hit the bottle.
It was a slow process, I gave it up one bottle at a time. There were times, especially at the beginning, where I would drink a whole bottle 5, maybe 6 times a day. Sometimes I would even get up at night to drink it. But gradually I cut back until I was bottle free.
It was expensive, too. My mom and dad (being enablers) estimate they spent over $1000 supporting my formula habit over the last 15 months.
It definitely hasn't been easy, particularly when I am around other babies who are still using. I can't say I haven't tried to rip bottles out of the hands of innocent children. But it gets easier every day.
So thanks for your support everyone. If you see me on the street with a sippy cup, just know that it is water, maybe milk, but NEVER formula, and I couldn't have done it without all of you.
Love, Holden

(me, in much earlier days, displaying what my parents called my "drunk" face)
