Guilt

A little over a week ago, (you know, when it was a downright balmy 50 degrees outside)  I was feeling pretty guilty as I went through Holden's drawers and noticed that the snow boots he got for Christmas still had the tags on them.

Just a few short days later I had the opportunity to redeem myself, when it dumped 6 inches of snow on us.  So, as not to tempt fate to continue dumping snow until those boots got used,  off came the tags and we bundled up and went outside.

Before my camera died 5 minutes into our outing, I got a few classic shots of Holden avoiding the camera and pretty much pretending I didn't exist.

Not pictured were our awesome snow angels (blew Holden's mind by the way), beating snow off all the trees with sticks (always a fave), and making snow babies (because there was no way I was attempting a snow man. Plus, if we made a snow man Holden wouldn't have picked it up, cradled it in his arms and sung it Rock A Bye Baby, thereby melting my cold, black winter heart.)

Plus, he got a redo when it dumped ANOTHER 6 inches on us a few days later and Reo took him out to show him how it was done.

See? A whole post about winter and not one complaint! I am making progress.
Wearing snow boots twice totally justifies the end of snow season, don't you think?

My Thoughts on Grad School

It's pretty much a no good, evil homewrecker, but it gave us one heck of a tax return this year, so I guess I can be bought!

Food Stuff

So, I really really love soup.  So much so that I have no less than 3 white chili recipes that I L.O.V.E.  They all have a special place in my black heart. Please don't judge...Actually, you know what?  Judge if you must, I don't mind, I'll wait....Finished?  Okay.  The recipe I made the other day most definitely owns the place of EASIEST white chili recipe.  And since I can't be the only one who appreciates easy, I thought I would share the recipe with all of you!  Now, I took a picture, but please do not judge the recipe by my picture. Just keep in mind that it is a slow cooker recipe, and slow cooker recipes, by law, must look slightly like vomit.  At least in my experience.  Or, there is a much more delightful picture (and the recipe!) on the website of the birthplace of this recipe, Pink Parsley.  I urge you to look at her picture and then make this chili as soon as possible.

In other Domestic Win news, thanks to a no fail recipe from my sister in law Cami, I have fulfilled my New Year's Resolution of making my first ever item with yeast.  I present to you, my very first attempt at pizza dough.  Feel free to give me lots of praise.
