On The Wagon

Hi. My name is Holden, and I am proud to say that it's been 26 days since I last hit the bottle.
It was a slow process, I gave it up one bottle at a time. There were times, especially at the beginning, where I would drink a whole bottle 5, maybe 6 times a day. Sometimes I would even get up at night to drink it. But gradually I cut back until I was bottle free.
It was expensive, too. My mom and dad (being enablers) estimate they spent over $1000 supporting my formula habit over the last 15 months.
It definitely hasn't been easy, particularly when I am around other babies who are still using. I can't say I haven't tried to rip bottles out of the hands of innocent children. But it gets easier every day.
So thanks for your support everyone. If you see me on the street with a sippy cup, just know that it is water, maybe milk, but NEVER formula, and I couldn't have done it without all of you.
Love, Holden

(me, in much earlier days, displaying what my parents called my "drunk" face)

Baby Proofing Fail

Umm, Mom?
These little pronged things that you stuck in all the outlets are for pulling out of the wall, putting in my mouth, and then putting back into the wall, right?
Just checking!

Happy Birthday, Kristin Cavallari!

I couldn't imagine a better birthday buddy than you! Unless we also shared the birth YEAR of 1987. We do not.
Fun Fact! Other celebs who share my special day:
Robert Duvall
Diane Keaton
& Marilyn Manson
P.S. Who are some of YOUR celebrity birthday buddies? Can you beat Marilyn Manson?

Spokane: A Photojournal

is what this post would be called had I not forgotten to pack my camera. Our recent trip to Spokane went 100 percent undocumented by me. Nonetheless, here is our trip in a nutshell.

Highlights:
*My little brother got married (the reason for the trip) to Cami, so our family is now one person bigger.
*Holden charmed the pants off of the flight attendant on the flight to Spokane, and slept most of the way on the flight home, making each trip a success!
*We discovered that Holden can seriously bust a move to Beyonce's "All the Single Ladies."

Lowlights:
Spokane is just as cold as here. I like you a LOT Cami, but I might like you just a teensy bit more if you were from Hawaii.

And because I would never subject you to a post without pictures, here is Holden testing out the Hog Santa brought him (Christmas blog post completed? Check!)
