Maybe it was all the rain.
Maybe it's because Holden was teething and needed extra attention.
Most likely it is because I am lazy...
At the beginning of the year, I bought one of those "scrapbook" calendars. I was not motivated to do all 12 months at once, plus I didn't have a lot of pictures I wanted to use yet, so I had the bright idea to do my scrapbooking throughout the year so that I could be slightly less overwhelmed (remember baby steps?) From January to May, I did very well at printing out and scrapbooking pictures (usually of Holden) before the month started.
It is June 29th, and this is what June's page looks like...
As you can see by my calendar, I have obviously not had a packed agenda, so I am not quite sure where things went so horribly, horribly wrong. So the question is, now what? Do I go back and post-scrapbook June, pretending this never happened? Do I just leave June blank forever? There is something so unwholesome feeling about leaving June a big empty white hole in my 2009...
P.S. Perhaps I have been feeling slightly jaded after memories of the last time I decided to make a scrapbook calendar have resurfaced in my mind. I recall this conversation during a previous December.
Reo: What are you doing?
Me: Making a scrapbook calendar. We don't have a calendar for next year yet, so I thought I would make one with pictures of us (because I am vain like that).
Reo: Cool...What month are you going to have the calendar start?
Me: Ummmm.....January (giving him a weird look. What kind of a question is that, I am thinking, it's a calendar!)
Reo: Hmmm, that's ambitious.
RUDE!! No faith in his own wife! You would think that I was the kind of person who rarely finishes her projects, and even more rarely finishes crafty-type projects.. Hmmph!

haha I totally blame myself for this whole mishap. Remember how we were going to plan a crafty day in June? I am sure that you were just waiting for that day and then it rained all month so neither of us thought it could possibly be warm, sunny, June and I got lazy... okay so maybe we can just blame it on the rain??
I bought a scrapbook three years ago. It still has no photo's or other scrapbooky items in it. In fact, it's still in the box. However, I have separated everything and put the items I want to put into the scrapbook into a rubbermaid tote. That's a step in the right direction, isn't it?
