To Remind Myself That Summer Existed...

There has been a definite bite to the air around these parts these last few days of August. Weather gurus are predicting a long, snowy winter. This news saddens me.

I had figured the statute of limitations had passed for this post, but I decided that during the upcoming long, cold days of winter I will want some warm memories to look back on. Plus, it is my blog, so I can make the statute of limitations whatever I want, right?

While Reo was gone, I recruited several people to be my friends, as I tend to be a bit codependent (thanks to all my recruits, by the way, you did a great job). The lucky ones on this particular day were my mom and little sister. Holden and I joined them for a day at Pineview Reservoir. The day included all of Holden's favorite things: sand, water and bananas.

The day also included some of my favorite things: built in babysitters so I could read magazines and take a nap on the beach.

Smells Like School Spirit

Reo spent last week in Indiana, getting all sorts of Master's Degree know-how (he's home now, so don't get any ideas all you internet creepers out there).

I am sure he learned all sorts of educational things, but he also contracted a severe case of Hoosier Fever.

Apparently the only cure is to bring home massive amounts of Indiana schwag.

Note to Self

Dear Self:
If you someday find yourself with a little girl, please buy her this dress from Etsy

If not, look into having it made in size grown up.

With love,
your 2010 self

This Post Brought to You From the Center of the Sun: AKA Our Condo

Current reading on my thermostat: 87 degrees
Number of days since my air conditioner died a quick and painful death: 6
Number of sweltering days remaining until my new air conditioner arrives to cool my house and empty my bank account: 2
Number of times we have overstayed our welcome every air conditioned place we can think of , most frequently Target and my parent's house: Countless

But, it's not all bad...

Since crossing and uncrossing my legs causes me to break a sweat when it is 87 degrees in my house, I pretty much spend most of my days doing what I do best; plopping my lazy bones onto a couch with 2 fans pointed directly at me, watching reruns of the Hills and drinking Diet Coke.

Meanwhile, Holden is finding alternate ways to stay cool as well.

I encourage everyone to go give your functioning cooling system a big fat hug right now, so you don't get betrayed like I did.
